The Innovation Fund, in support of SSRIA’s mission, accelerates the adoption of innovative low-carbon solutions for buildings of all types. Through a collaborative industry-led approach, SSRIA aims to showcase Canadian leadership and drive economic development. The fund supports projects that demonstrate innovative designs, technologies, products, or services that help reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in building construction and operation.
Innovation Fund Objectives:
Identify and enable a path to net zero emissions buildings by 2050 through innovation.
Integrate new clean technologies and design approaches that support energy and carbon reductions in construction and operations of buildings (new or existing).
Model, measure, monitor, analyze, and report on results from actual building performance.
Grow clean technology sector businesses active in green buildings while strengthening the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector.
Approved Applicants Will:
Gain valuable connections and working experience with key influencers.
Have access to independently analyzed data to demonstrate the performance of their innovations.
Receive business support and connections to expand market penetration through the Business Growth Program.
Get an opportunity to grow market share and gain exposure.
Receive funding to reduce the risk of being a first mover on low-carbon building solutions.
Eligibility: This call for Expression of Interest supports projects based in Alberta led by eligible organizations, including commercial and for-profit organizations, not-for-profit organizations, registered charities, Indigenous governing bodies, municipal/regional governments, and the provincial government of Alberta. Projects must demonstrate innovative designs, technologies, products, or services that reduce energy use and/or carbon emissions, with potential for application and replication in other buildings.
