Tomi Oyende is a Growth Product Manager at BBVA with a strong track record in the technology industry. She brings expertise in product management, organizational development, and business strategy, along with a passion for public speaking and community impact. Tomi holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Ruhr University of Bochum and is deeply committed to leveraging innovation to drive positive change in both the tech sector and social services.

 

Jwalant Desai, Telus

Jwalant Desai is a globally experienced innovation leader with 20+ years in venture capital, enterprise sales, and digital strategy. He has worked across Asia and North America, advising governments and leading APAC operations in tech. Active in Alberta’s startup ecosystem, Jwalant mentors founders, shares thought leadership, and champions emerging technologies like AI and blockchain. A passionate connector and traveler, he’s driven to build impactful, collaborative solutions across borders.

 

Matthew Schafer, ShareMe.Chat

Matthew Schafer is a seasoned product leader and growth strategist with over 20 years of experience across diverse industries. Currently focused on international expansion for ShareMe.Chat, he champions strategic product development and go-to-market success. Passionate about empowering the next generation, Matthew mentors youth entrepreneurs through YELL Canada, working directly with high school teams in Edmonton to nurture early-stage innovation. A well-connected connector and community advocate, he’s known for driving growth, fostering innovation, and building thriving ecosystems.

 

Nazrin Asgarzade, FemTech

Nazrin Asgarzade is an Innovation Program Manager, business development strategist, startup enthusiast, and the founder of FemTech. With over 5 years of experience, she has developed incubation programs, organized events like Startup Weekend, Fuckup Nights, and Demo Days, and mentored early-stage businesses. Nazrin is passionate about gender equality, technology, and empowering women and youth through meaningful and innovative solutions.

 

Vasu Aggarwal, Student, University of Alberta

Vasu Aggarwal is an University of Alberta student immersed in Edmonton’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. A dedicated builder with a passion for blending technology and business. In addition to volunteering, he publishes thoughtful LinkedIn articles on resilience and startup strategy—helping aspiring entrepreneurs navigate challenges one small win at a time.
